With apologies for the delay, I would like to take a moment to recognize the life of Adam Yauch, also know by his stage name MCA. As a member of the hip hop group the Beastie Boys he was responsible for many childhood classics such as ‘You’ve Got to Fight for Your Right,’ Sabotage,’ ‘Intergalactic,’ and of course ‘Girls.’ Following his untimely death at the young age of 47 he will be missed by the baby boomers who discovered his music as young adults and the generation Y’ers who grew up listening to it alike.
Rest in peace MCA.
Moss Table generates electricity through Photosynthesis.
Here electricity is generated from the electrons captured by conductive fibers inside the moss table. The technology turns energy that would otherwise be wasted in the photosynthesis process into power that can be put to practical use. (by Biophotovoltaics)My parasitology professor would love this, he’s seriously always talking about using plants for electricity and such.

THIS is cool.
I would love to see this become the reality it implies. It would be a true testament to the power of this current trend to interdisiplinary projects in the sciences.
I am a bit confused about it, I get that there would be a genetically engineered moss that produces energy more efficiently than wild-type moss, but where does the CO2 come from? Is the table open on the bottom, or are the gasses being formed by the bacteria breaking down dead moss? Also water is being synthesized by the electrodes right, why isn’t that the water being used to support the moss? The diagram seems to show an open system. Overall it would still be an improvement to modern commercially available energy (well, once the output of a table the size show increases about 104 times from what it is now) but could stand some fundamental design changes.
Can someone please explain to me why I am here at work today instead of at ROFLCon listening to people discuss the difference between lols and lulz.
It is never in good taste to express the sum of two quantities as
1+1=2.[Everyone] is aware that
and further that
1=sin²q+cos² qIn addition, it is obvious to the casual reader that
.
Thereforeequation (1)can be rewritten more scientifically as:

Hahahaha
every time someone who knows writing discusses my writing with me, they point out something weird that I do. I’ve had several people point out my overuse of commas, and then, I just went to the writing center and the girl reviewing my paper was like “you use the infinite form of words so often! I’ve never seen something like this!”
so yeah, I write weird.
I blame FRCS.
My work is giving away free Easter stuff to get rid of it. At the end if the night we still had round rack full of peeps, so I took some. I got bored and made this, currently waiting to see if any of my suitemates notices it, or gets the reference. Considering moving it to the science building or something.
